Aduro U-GRIP PLUS Universal Dashboard Windshield Car Mount for Smart Phones, Apple iPhone 5 / 5S / 5C / 4 / 4S / 3G, Deals

You've no doubt noticed that most of the companies that make cell phone peripherals just crap poorly-designed junk out of the lowest-bidder Chinese factory, or even worse, rebrand somebody else's steaming turd as their own. I've gone through a half-dozen mounts from both no-name to brand-name and ended up returning them all.

My BMW probably doesn't help. It's got a dashboard with a pebbled/textured finish. It's not perfectly flat. And I drive like a jerk. The latter is a crucial point of failure for mounts with a longer reach that multiply the leverage of a heavy phone on a suction cup. Read: mount (with phone attached) goes flying off to the side, usually into my passenger's face.

I figured this one had physics working in its favor off the bat, being so short (but I was a tad worried about it having the phone out of reach). Turns out that's not a problem. Neither is the AMAZING grip on the dashboard side. As others mentioned, it's a suction cup AND an (reusable) adhesive pad. This means it ain't going nowhere. I've verified this with plenty of...brisk driving in both hot and cold climes.

Also nice is the simple, fail-proof, spring-loaded holster. It's a very robust spring so there's no chance of the phone falling out accidentally, and it doesn't try anything funny in terms of foam pads or awkward positioning. It's deep/wide enough to accommodate even a slightly bulky hard case as well.

True, it DOES take some practice/effort to insert and remove the phone one-handed. But it's not impossible, unless you're an invalid or really, really uncoordinated in which case, you should ask yourself: should you even be driving?

That said, this is a very well-buit, well-engineered, simple mount that will hold your phone and not launch itself into someone's eye socket when taking a freeway offramp at three times the recommended speed. A+ would buy again.

I ended up purchasing four different car phone holders before I found one that works - that sticks to my dashboard, holds my IPhone 4, makes it relatively easy, with one hand, to insert the phone and remove it. And it stays stuck to the dashboard. I drive a late model Subaru Outback and after placing and testing the mount in many different locations, I found the most convenient one for me was mounted to the dash on left side of the steering wheel.

The three models that would not stick to the dashboard, anywhere I tried, are as follows (I returned them to Amazon without a problem:)
The iOttie Windshield Dashboard Car Mount Holder
The iOttie Easy Flex2 Windshield Dashboard Car Mount Holder & Desk Stand
The Tylt Capio Universal Car Mount

The one model that works, and is still working after a month, is the Aduro U-GRIP Universal Dashboard Windshield Car Mount. An added note is that this model comes with an extra grip in case the mount doesn't adhere well. I did not need to use it. I give it 4 stars because I've only had it a month.

I just started using this one about 3 days ago. Overall, I'm very satisfied with this item. You can operate it with one hand for iPhone, but it requires you to use two hands to open it for the larger Galaxy Note. I attached it on Nissan Altima's textured dashboard, and it hangs on perfectly. Two things I noted were.. if you want to remove it from your dashboard, it's not quite easy since the suction cup is a bit sticky. And when you drive with your phone on this item, it wobbles a little tiny bit, but not much and it does not bother me at all. I'm thinking about buying another one for my wife.

Pros:
- Easy to install
- Very strong suction
- Holds large phones (Galaxy Note - 3.27" width)

Cons:
- Wobbles a tiny bit, but negligible

* I also noticed that the bottom part of my older car mount(from Arcon) fits perfectly well into this item. I'm not sure if they all follow a universal standard.. but it can be used as the replacement if something happens to this item's suction cup.

This review is from: KaysCase Slim Hard Shell Cover Case for the new HTC One (M7) Smart Phone (Black) (Wireless Phone Accessory)
I normally don't write many reviews, but am really happy with this case. I'm generally a no-case kind of guy because I hate the bulk and feel of cases. In looking for a case, my criteria in order of importance was:

1) Minimal bulk (This case is about as 'barely there' as you can get without going for one of the adhesive skin type solutions.)
2) Attractive design (Very happy with the minimalist design. I especially like the black case on my silver HTC One.)
3) No TPU (I hate the plasticky feel of the soft TPU stuff. This case doesn't have any of that sticky feel, nor does it pick up lint from your pocket.)
4) Enhanced grip (The HTC One's aluminum body is really slippery, this case definitely improves grip)
5) Light protection. (If there is one fault to this case, it might be that this being a very thin case, you don't get a ton of protection from a drop or fall. Still, the case and the outer lips do rise a tiny bit above the HTC One edges, so it provides protection for both the screen and camera when laid face down. It also makes it so that I can toss my phone on top of my aluminum ultrabook or granite countertop without being worried about scratches.

Bottom line is, for $10 shipped you really can't go wrong. This case was not only a good value, but exactly what I was looking for at any price.

Regarding the red case:

The case is the color represented in the the product photos. It is a nice deep rich red. It fits the phone really well. It has a nice feel to it.

Unfortunately, the red color on the case was coming off onto the white parts of the back of my phone. But, Kay's Case customer service contacted me about this and immediately sent me a replacement case, no questions asked.

Regarding the clear case:

Again, the case fits the phone well. It has a superior fit compared to the clear case I got from another manufacturer.

Overall, the stand out feature of the Kay's Case cases is the exceptional customer service. Have no fear about purchasing from them. They make good stuff. And if it isn't right, they will make it right.

Whenever there is a new phone launch, it can take awhile for good quality cases to come out from third party vendors. There were several cases that looked appealing to me but they would not ship for another few weeks. This case was immediately available and provided protection for the back of the phone with out adding too much bulk/width and does not cover the gorgeous back and design of the phone. The case could come up slightly higher on the front to protect the screen more but the small lip may provide some protection is set down on it's face. My only qualm is that it does not feel like a super high end case and once the back scuffs it will lose the crystal clear effect. For the money, this is a great option (probably the best out there at the momment) but I imagine higher quality cases will be available in the coming weeks.

Kidz Delight Smooth Touch Smart Phone Deals

I was really excited when I saw this phone on Amazon. I even preordered it! My 11 month old son is obsessed with my iPhone. The product is MUCH different in person than the one picture Amazon had up. I've included some photos so you can see what it actually looks like. The screen doesn't light up or act like its a real phone at all. Its a cheap sticker stuck onto a giant piece of white plastic. The phone is much larger and chunkier than a real iPhone, and honestly doesn't resemble it at all. Its not even fun to play with. My son took one look at it and tossed it aside. I already returned it. I might have kept it if it was around $5 (I paid $21.99 preordered), but anything more than that is NOT worth it.

I sort of thought the whole screen would be backlit like a real iphone, but instead only one small circle icon in the upper left lights up. The rest of the buttons are just a big sticker that covers the whole front of the screen. The sticker and phone are good quality and appear to be well made.

The sound is not to loud, not to soft, just right.

The buttons are easy to press and you dont have to press down very hard at all, which is nice! It is slightly larger than a real iphone.

Overall I'm happy with it and my son seems to like it. i just wish i knew that only one small icon lights up and the rest are just an image.

I am giving it two stars mostly because one star means I hate it, and hate is such a strong word.

If you are looking for an iPhone knockoff to give your toddler to play with so he/she can leave your real phone alone, this is NOT the item to get. Any 18 months + toddler who have played with a real iPhone will not want to have anything to do with this. I think the more suitable age for this toy is more the 9-12 months crowd. My 19 months old, who's been using my iPhone since forever, looked at me like "are you kidding me" when I handed him this toy. I am returning it.

The biggest problem is, the photos are misleading. It makes it appear as if the toy has a screen like the iPhone and icons on them when you push, something will show up on the screen. That is NOT the case. There is no screen, unless you count the little dot on the upper left corner that lights up when you hit those buttons. The rest of the "screen" is just a sticker of icons, when you press "1", it just says "1". That's it! I realize $20 wasn't going to get me a real iPhone like toy, but still, this is maybe a $10 toy that's not even as good as some of the other toy phones on the market for the younger kids. Very disappointed.

I don't usually write reviews but the imagnet deserves one.

I had been looking for a simple, clutter free, one handed solution for docking my phone in my car. Ive tried universal docks which end up falling apart or losing their grip. Ive tried a specifically made dock but they're too tight to use with a case.

Im not using the suction mount aspect (so i wont be talking about it). I took off the magnet and mounted it directly to my dash.
-Magnet is super strong
-metal disks are extremely thin (was surprised how thin)
-fits between my phone and case

The beauty of it is I get in my car and just slap it on the magnet. No fuss, no adjusting.

Case thickness does affect the strength of hold however. So if you have a bulky case (otterbox), you might consider a different case or just mounting the magnet to the back. Its thin enough to not even notice.

Perfect way to mount my iphone on my car dashboard. I've used holders with suction cups before but it would only hold well on glass surfaces. The suction cup on the imagnet has a sticky layer that makes it possible to use on my textured dashboard. It's good how the holder doesn't block my vision now. I like how this holder doesn't have any brackets that block the volume and silent buttons on the side of the phone. The mount provides sufficient support in all directions including upside down.

The magnetic snapping action is really sweet and I don't even have to look at where I'm mounting my phone to anymore. With other mounts I needed two hands, one hand to hold the phone, and the other hand to open the clamps.

However:
- There's no interference issues with my iphone from the magnets, but it does cause temporary loss of direction in the MAPS app.
- The sticky suction cup is really good (different to the normal ones) but it won't work on wood (such as my dining table)

I currently use this with my Droid Bionic. I've found that, even with a higher-capacity battery the steel disc fits inside battery door, allowing me to use this without a bulky case and without the steel plate stuck to the back of my phone. The magnet is more than sufficiently strong to hold the phone in place in whatever orientation I see fit and keeps it in place even when driving over rough and broken pavement. I also love the fact that this isn't phone specific - it can be used with any device and comes with a variety of plates to allow it to work well. The fact that it doesn't use a bulky cradle is particularly nice for those that have to haul this around for regular travel (I travel weekly for work). Other reviews have referenced the soft, gummy suction cup which allows this to stick effectively even to irregular surfaces like textured dashboards. Overall, this is a spectacularly compact, effective, and flexible mount. Worth every penny. Way highly recommended.

Apple Iphone 4 16gb (Black) - Verizon Deals

I bought this phone because the seller advertised it as brand NEW. After receiving it and having it activated by Verizon, we discovered that the back lens was all scratched up. When I took it to a place that fixes iPhones they confirmed that the back of the phone was not original, the phone had been opened before, it had bent tabs and the wrong screws! I paid to have the lens repaired. He offered to reimburse me and never heard from him again. Don't buy from him. He is selling refurbished phones as brand new phones. I don't know why Amazon allows him to sell on their web sight. He must joy out of ripping people off. One day it will all come full circle.

I bought this Iphone as a stop gap so I could have an Iphone 4 from Verizon without having to re up my contract- which I would do when the new Iphone 5 comes out. Bought it from this Amazon third party seller. It came two days after I ordered it. It is perfect! New and works like a dream. So if you don't want to spend full retail on this phone, and don't want to re-up your Verizon contract, this is the ONLY way to go!! Excellent!!

This review is from: Apple iPhone 4 16GB (Black) - Verizon (Wireless Phone Accessory)
As the title states, this was my first iPhone. After seeing my girlfriend get an iPhone 3 I became infatuated. I ended up getting one when my contract was up about a year after drooling over it. It was a great phone (I recently upgraded to the iPhone 5) and I would purchase it again if it weren't for the iPhone 5. The amount of features it unlocked after coming from a non-smart phone is incredible. The abundance of apps is great and the quality of the phone overall is superb.

The battery life blew all my other phones out of the water. The picture is crystal clear and the sound that comes out of the phone isn't bad. It's better than my other phones (Samsung Glyde, Samsung Reality) but it's certainly not great. Call reception is great on Verizon, I've never had a dropped call and I get service where a lot of other cell users do not.

My only qualms is that it doesn't support 4G and not all apps on the app store free or that great, but this is not the fault of the phone.

Now that the iPhone 5 is out the iPhone 4 seems more reasonably priced and remains almost as great as the 5. The iPhone 5 is WAY overpriced and doesn't do much more than the 4. So overall, the 4 is a great phone and I would recommend it to anybody.

Gone are the days of forgetting my wallet at home...after applying this product to my iPhone, I have yet to be without a credit card, drivers license and some cash since. It was extremely easy to install and barely adds weight to my phone. Love this product...will always have one attached to my phone. Even better, this product is MADE IN THE USA!

I bought this directly from CardNinja before it was available on Amazon. I love this card holder. It can hold one card or as I have in mine right now 8 plus some folded cash. I have never had anything fall out and I love that all I have to carry with me now is my phone. I would highly recommend this if you're trying to go minimal.
By Andy (New York) -

It's basically a stretchable pocket that sticks on the back of your phone. It expands to fit what you put in there and holds them pretty tightly. If you take out a lot of cards at once it becomes pretty loose. Maybe it would shrink back over time, but I haven't tried that. Also sometimes when I take my phone out of my pocket the cards will slide out a little bit, but they've never come completely out.

Something to keep in mind is that the front side of the cardninja is only 2.75" high while most cards are 3.5", so every time you have your phone out, people will be able to tell you have a credit card or drivers license or cash or whatever you're carrying. I put a backwards business card in the front to block everything and give myself some privacy.

After ordering one for a gift, we ordered two more. It's a great sounding little speaker - full, rich, not tinny at all. It comes with a usb cord to recharge. This speaker stand doesn't charge the iPod but recharges the speaker.

I can't figure out how to stand it up vertically (portrait view) and still plug the speaker cord into the bottom of the iPod as shown in the picture; it pushes it over. (possibly, I need to examine it further.) But it's perfect in landscape view for watching movies, etc.

Wow! I bought this not expecting much more than a slight increase in volume over my iPhone speakers. It was frustrating to try and listen to the music on my iPhone while taking a shower because it often drowned out the meager output.

I bought this speaker after a great deal of research, and based upon the reviews figured at the price point could purchase 2 with nothing to loose. I was absolutely blown away with the sound. It was so loud that I actually had to turn down the volume.

Unbelievable is all that I can say. It is well worth the price and probably more. I like the carrying case which is compact and easy to transport, can toss it into my bag. I have a lot of music with heavy bass and this little speaker really pumps it out.

I read a review that this speaker stand doesn't work with a iPhone case, but I was able to stand it both vertically and horizontally without problem. I initially thought that the stand also charges the phone, but upon using it discovered that doesn't charge the device but recharges the speaker.

This is nothing to complain about and I highly recommend this speaker to anyone who wants to listen to the music on the iPhone without being restricted to headphones.

From the reviews I was expecting this to be pretty good. It's better than pretty good! The sound quality is great and the volume gets loud without any static. Although I have to turn the volume down to 2 at work, since my office is basically a cubicle. But the sound is solid/strong. I would definitely recommend this and I'm thinking of buying another one for home. Great product for a great price! :)

One handed mounting is very convenient. The mount seems to be made of a good quality plastic with strong knobs and hinges. It holds the iPhone 4s in an Acase(TM) iPhone 4 and 4S Superleggera PRO Dual Layer Protection (Black/Black) case (Fits AT&T, Sprint and Verizon iPhone 4 and 4S) with a the charging cable attached. Excellent - all my requirements met.

However, the suction cup is almost ridiculous the way it sticks to flat smooth surfaces. After the first application, it is not coming off without some time and effort prying it away (and, yes the suction lock lever was released). I would suggest using a crowbar. It might loosen it's grip with time as some debris accumulates on the surface but that's definitely not the case when new.

My initial plan was to store the mount in the glove box after each use but then I quickly realized that was just not practical. I applied it a second time and plan to leave it there until it falls off. I'm fairly sure the zombie apocalypse will arrive first, so no worries there.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining about the sticking power of the suction cup. You want it to stay put and it will. However, I imagine the force required to remove a strong healthy non-defanged headcrab would be less than this thing. So, don't say your weren't warned.

I will probably purchase one more for the other car since installation is semi-permanent.

I am so very impressed by this car mount! I have a brand new Samsung Galaxy S III which is a pretty large phone. I have been searching for the right car mount forever and reading reviews of several different makers and models. This is the only one of which I couldn't find a complaint that it didn't fit or it was too wobbly or that the thing just didn't stick to the car surface well. And guess what? It's true! This is a firm holder that sticks like crazy (don't worry, it comes off ...eventually with a lot of muscle, it's just suction device so it won't harm you car interior). The only problem I had was I could get it to stick to the vinyl dash board of my Mini Cooper which is not exactly known for interior real estate. I finally decided on the plexi-glass that covers the gigantic speedometer in the center of my dashboard. It has held really well for a couple of days now, even in the heat of a 105 degree Southern California Summer. It makes me giddy thinking about how cool my car mount is, holding my new cool phone. By the way, this car mount even fits my phone with the protective phone cover on! It was under $20 which worried me that it would be a cheap product, but it just isn't so.

FINAL UPDATE (March 2, 2013) - Sadly the replacement product the company sent me fell off the dashboard about 10 days ago, and I could not get it to stick solidly again using the techniques suggested. Maybe it's my 2007 Toyota dashboard, maybe it's the extreme temperatures in Southern CA. Hard to say, but my final review is that this dash mount works great until it stops working, which unfortunately seems to be in four months or less based on my experience. Hopefully they'll figure out how to solve this problem, because the iOttie One-Touch Windshield Dashboard Car Mount Holder has many other great features. But ultimately it doesn't work for me.

UPDATE #2 (Jan 8, 2013) - I've been using the replacement "One-Touch Windshield Dashboard Car Mount Holder," which iOttie sent me after the first one stopped sticking, for over 2 months now and it's doing the job. The one catch is that it's been during the winter months, rather than the punishing summer months when the first one failed. So I'll do a final update once my iOttie dash mount has made it through summer. So far, though, I'm very happy and would recommend this product without reservation if you live in a climate where summers aren't as long and hot as they are in southern CA. It mounts easily, is simple to use, and has very versatile positioning, which allows me to position my iPhone close to an air conditioning vent to avoid overheating. I use it just about every time I get into the car. Works great with the Waze app! It's reasonably priced, and iOttie's customer service has been admirable. (iOttie has been checking in periodically via email to see how the product is doing for me.) If the suction holds up through the summer it will definitely be a 5 star product!

UPDATE #1 (Oct 23, 2012) - iOttie contacted me via email immediately after I posted my review and offered me a replacement product. Because I liked this dash mount so much aside from the sticking fail, I happily accepted. They shipped it quickly, and I've been using the iOttie ever since, with success. It's been less than a month, so I don't know if the sticking problem will happen again, but the customer service was impressive. I'll update at the 2 month mark when I can have some confidence that my complaint has been resolved.

FIRST REVIEW (Oct 2, 2012): This dashboard car mount iPhone holder worked fantastically until it started falling off my dash board less than 2 months after I received it. I tried cleaning off the suction cup as directed, and that seemed to help briefly, but it wasn't a long-term fix. Disappointing.
